[we all know that gendo, yui and kozo were close friends back then before the actual plot of eva started. So this is a song that shows what could be one of the things that happened back then, assuming that kozo did like yui as much as we think he did]
I found her diary underneath a tree.

[after reading, kozo just kept it in his mind that yui did love him...she just didn't show it...probably because she's his student. but the fact that she cared made him happy]

[despite what she'd written in her diary, never once did yui show him affection as a lover would...]

[reading about their possible future as a couple, kozo's already planning on how to spend life with her. and on how to give her the best things he could give to make her happy]
